Be Prepared, Not Scared!
Did the ice storms of Winter 2008 bring an “emergency” to your door step? These storms were powerful teachers. We were reminded that we need each other and need to have certain awareness and skills: shelter, water, fire, food and community support.
Whether you’re dealing with an ice storm, a power outage, being stranded in your car or lost in the wilderness, this hands-on, engaging workshop will demonstrate the practical skills you need as you learn how to:
- Create warm shelter in or outside your home;
- Stay healthy through good hygiene and sanitation practices;
- Make water safe to drink;
- Make fire when your matches are wet or your lighter fluid doesn’t work due to extreme cold;
- Find the best food sources when grocery stores are wiped out or you can’t get to them, and how to prepare the food when your stove or microwave doesn’t work;
- Use your car as a shelter, for cooking food and making a fire.
This Workshop is organized as requested or at special events, so if a date is not listed on our Calendar, call us (413-522-0338) to schedule one in your area! A discount is available for the organizer if he/she brings in 10 paying clients.
More and more people keep asking us to do Workshops and 3-day classes or weekend Programs
Self-sufficiency, community resilience and reclaiming skills were once commonplace. Currently we are living in uncertain times with three important aspects to consider: economy, energy and environment. There are a lot of questions out there! Many fears; some have lost hope.
Now is the time for a paradigm shift, to rebuild our VISION for a regenerative life of abundance and to reclaim our HOPE! We have knowledge and evidence that our current way of living is unsustainable.
We are offering a special Self-Sufficiency, Community Resilience and Re-skilling Series. Contact Us to schedule a series in your area.
We will teach you to be able to recreate a life with the community, and we will teach skills that create true connections and resiliency. Frank Grindrod has over 10 years of experience teaching survival and wilderness living skills, and currently is the Director of a survival school in Western Massachusetts.
