How to Register for Homeschool Programs (VIDEO)

Time to Register for Heron and Swift Eagle Homeschool!

Our Homeschool Programs run from September through June…3 sessions: Fall, Winter and Spring. Heron is for ages 7+ and Swift Eagle is for 11+.

Mother Nature brings something wonderful and amazing to each session.

  • Fall is filled with colors, roots, acorns, animals preparing for winter.
  • Winter starts out brown and becomes white, and it’s a great time to practice tracking, ice safety and learning to prevent hypothermia.
  • Spring is, of course, the awakening of the woods with so many shades of green.

Here’s a short video to help you navigate the registration process:

REGISTER FOR WILDERNESS SCOUTS

Our goal in Wilderness Scouts is to guide young people on their path to wilderness self-reliance and connection with nature. We will provide students with the knowledge and hard skills to prepare them to thrive in life through outdoor experiential learning. We use a merit and advancement structured curriculum, where successful practice and demonstration opens doors to further freedoms and specialties.

At the core of the Wilderness Scouts program, students will work with mentors to gain respect for nature by understanding the importance of water, fire, food and shelter as our most basic human needs. They will begin to learn about camp, fire, and wood crafting as well as local plant, tree and animal species. They will practice the art of camouflaging and being still in nature. True self-reliance in the wilderness is grown out of deep connection with the earth and indigenous wisdom. Learning awareness of the human bond with the land and understanding of the knowledge passed down by our ancestors will give students the perspective and connection they need to learn these skills.

My son participates in a weekly afterschool program and summer camps with Earthworks. Anything Earthworks is his favorite thing to do. Earthworks provides a perfect balance of learning, fun, and self-discovery that leaves my son feeling happier, smarter, and more fulfilled. When he is out in the woods with the Earthworks staff, he gets to experience the best of himself, and that leads to a sense of serenity and self-confidence that carries over into his life at home and at school. We feel lucky to have such an amazing program in our community. WolfQuest-Amherst Parent
